Free Gift (Add a Free Product)
The Free Gift discount type allows you to automatically add a free product to the customer’s bundle when a specific tier condition is met. This is one of the most powerful ways to increase perceived value and encourage customers to complete higher tiers.
How It Works
- A free product is added to the cart when the tier condition is achieved
- Works with both:
- Quantity-Based Tiers (based on number of items)
- Amount-Based Tiers (based on total spend)
- You can:
- Add a specific product, or
- Allow customers to choose from multiple gift options
Examples
Quantity-Based Example:
- Buy 3 items → Get 1 Free Gift
- Buy 5 items → Get 1 Free Gift
Amount-Based Example:
- Spend $200 → Get 1 Free Gift
- Spend $500 → Get 1 Free Gift

Steps to Set Up Free Gift
- Click Discounts in the left sidebar.
- Under Pricing Mode, select Tiered Discounts.
- In the Discount Calculation section, choose:
- Quantity Based (for item-based tiers), or
- Amount Based (for spend-based tiers)
- Scroll to the Discount Tiers section.
- Click Add Tier or click the edit icon on an existing tier.
- In the Edit Discount Tier popup:
- Set the minimum quantity (for quantity-based) or
- Set the minimum amount (for amount-based)
- Under Discount Type, select Free gift (add a free product to cart).
- In the Gift Products section:
- Click Select products
- Choose one or multiple products to offer as a gift
- Review the Preview section to confirm how the offer will appear.
- Click Save changes.
