Compulsory Items

Compulsory items are products or variants that are automatically included in every bundle purchase, regardless of customer selections.

These items are applied at the bundle level and are not tied to individual steps.

Use Cases

Compulsory items are ideal for:

• Gift boxes or packaging materials
• Free samples or promotional items
• Required accessories that must always be included

How Compulsory Items Work

When a customer adds a bundle to the cart, compulsory items are automatically added along with the selected products.

• Customers do not select or modify these items
• They are included as part of the bundle configuration
• They apply to the entire bundle, not specific steps

Adding Compulsory Items

To add compulsory items:

1. Open the bundle in the editor
2. Go to the Products section
3. Scroll to the Compulsory Products area
4. Click Manage Compulsory
5. Select the product(s) you want to include
6. Confirm your selection

The selected items will be automatically included in the bundle.

Stored Item Data

Each compulsory item includes:

• Item Type → product or variant
• Shopify GID → unique identifier
• Quantity → fixed quantity per bundle
• Title & Image → for display purposes

Important Notes

• Compulsory items are always included in the bundle
• Customers cannot remove or replace them
• Collections are not supported for compulsory items
• Items are added with a fixed quantity defined in the bundle
• These items are applied globally across the bundle

Example

A bundle includes:

• Step-based product selections (e.g., choose items)
• a free sample (compulsory item)

The free sample is automatically added to the cart without user interaction.
